The key to emotional freedom is divorcing yourself from unproductive and negative beliefs that drive unproductive behavior - this dance gets us nowhere.  Divorce the bad habits not the people in your life! Women Are We Missing A Chip?

I talk with so many women each week who range from women running large enterprises to those whose lives are a little less complicated and the same thread/theme runs through their lives - deprivation! Either they are too busy to exercise, read, or even grab lunch or they have no concept of enjoying their life - too many more important "others" to take care of.

How is it so many of us have this constriction/deprivation living in common? I invite you to call a girlfriend no matter how busy she is and commit to putting an end to constriction living today! Us women do everything better with a buddy so call yours and get started with The Immersion Program.

Immersion is about extreme self care. This means getting in the habit of taking care of your self first. Most women struggle with the idea of taking care of themselves; some think it’s selfish to put your self first. Whether or not you are comfortable with the idea of extreme self care today, it is absolutely necessary for emotional freedom. If you don’t have activities today that nurture you and give you rest and joy, it is showing up somewhere.

Do you get time to yourself regularly? Do you get exercise and take the time to feed your self well? We are delicate creatures and every area of our lives needs regular attention. Be sure to consider these areas when creating an extreme self care program for yourself:

• Your physical body – plan for feeding it with healthy food and peaceful eating
• Exercise is a must, not a luxury. Find something you can do at least three times per week to get the exercise your body needs. No excuses – there is some form of exercise that you can fit into your lifestyle.
• Rest and relaxation. When was the last time you read a novel for the fun of it? Recreation revitalizes us all. Take time to walk on the beach, read a good book, or stare at nature – you need it.
• Support circles and friends. A necessary part of extreme self care is recreation or re-creation. Do you get enough time with the friends who support and love you? In order to strike the delicate balance we all need to be happy, we need to be loved and supported.

Part of extreme self care is not making time for anyone who does not fit into the category of support. If you have friends who are negative or always need something from you, it may be time to either renegotiate the relationship or, at least for now, put it on the back burner in an effort to surround yourself only with people who love and support you.

Maybe this is a good time to make new friends. There are a lot of groups that, depending on your interests, could be a great place to meet new friends who fit for your plan for positive life affirming energy and activities. This does not mean finding distractions: see the fourth rule.

The third aspect of extreme self care imperative to The Immersion Program is the care and feeding of your mental and spiritual life. This can mean different things to different people. Some like the structure and community of a traditional church setting, meeting weekly with like-minded people. For some, spirituality is a more solitary walk on the beach or a commune-with-nature-type of activity. It’s essential to our health to practice our spirituality regularly. Not unlike the surrender exercise, we need to remind ourselves of the connection to our Creator.

It usually takes about 90 days to create or change a habit. My challenge to you is to commit to putting a practice of spirituality in place in your life if you don’t already have one, one time per week for at least 90 days. Ninety days goes by quickly, but you may notice you feel a lot differently after making a commitment to this small change in your life.

Immerse Yourself In The Holidays And Emerge A Better You


With all that comes to bare with the holidays - creating memorable meals, coordinating the wants and needs of extended family, fulfilling childhood memories and distinguishing a few too. How do you manage it all and enjoy the moments with your joyful self and your loved ones?

In order to "do it all" and enjoy myself I find I have to make sure to have as many "energy credits" as "energy debits". I call it my Immersion Program - I surround myself with all the positive imput and spontaneous little pleasures I can find time for. My favorite inspirational audio cds in the car and a quick walk on the beach always make me happy! With these habits I find I have a lot more to give to the holiday celebrations and the ones I love! I say immerse yourself in something wonderfully self loving and fun - there is time when you make it.

The gift is when the eyes through which I see my relationships are happy and healthy every I see looks healthy and happy!
